Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) Program
The Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) Program aims to actively manage congestion during non-recurring events. Non-recurring congestion has widespread consequences and impacts to the transportation system. ICM is an approach to improve transportation by integrating various network elements, allowing local agencies to manage the transportation system as a unified system. By integrating and optimizing real-time travel information and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technologies, ICM will improve operations and safety while promoting cooperative and collaborative traffic management across agencies. Overall, an ICM system would consist of a data hub and decision support system (DSS) that would ingest data from the freeway system, local arterial systems, and other sources, and provide response plans to manage congestion uniformly.
